Naiara Reinders. Shower. April 12th , 2017.
If you already have a shower installed in your bathroom, you need to remove it completely before you can get a new one installed. However, to make the installation process simpler and less expensive, look for a shower that is similar to the one you used before. Also, the wiring and power rating should be same as that for the previous model. This way, it can be easily integrated into the bathroom, without making any major changes in the wiring and circuit of your bathroom.
A standard shower curtain for a clawfoot tub is usually 180 inches in width with a standard height of 70 inches. It should easily go around the rod and cover the bathtub entirely in order to protect the floor from any spillage. In essence, you need an extra-wide shower curtain so that it fits the circumference of your tub. The height of the curtain should ideally be as long as the top of the legs of the tub. The shower curtain should also have a liner of the same width and height, as this is the best solution to prevent excess spillage. Ideally, these shower curtains should have specific roller ball curtain rod rings in order to turn around the shower conveniently without spoiling the curtain rod.
The sub-floor should be prepared, in the first place. Ensure that the sub-floor is leveled and is devoid of any debris or obstructing structures. The sub-floor can be of wood, plywood or concrete. Although, a sub-floor prepared with the help of plywood would be preferred.
Based on their structure, there are two kinds of enclosures - the prefabricated ones and the custom-made ones. The prefabricated ones can be put up by you; you will get all the parts and will have to only erect the structure within your bathroom in a do-it-yourself manner.
